Please, Let Israel Win
Let Israel win this war against Hamas. There should be no cease fire or truce until Israel achieves its goals in eradicating Hamas completely. Assuming that Hamas would be replaced with a more benign Palestinian regime, an Israeli victory will: remove an Islamic fundamentalist terror dictatorship from power, end rocket attacks against Israel, reduce suicide attacks, demoralize other Islamic terror groups (such as Al Qaeda and Hezbollah), demoralize Hamas’ belligerent state backers (Syria and Iran), drastically lower the risks for future conflict, and save lives (both Israelis and Palestinians). A cease fire or other failed truce (see my Post, Gaza: the Sad Joke of the Truce (Hudna),12/19/08) between Hamas and Israel will just cause much more suffering and misery in the future. Simply put, Hamas is a war mongering, terrorist organization, and its total defeat is in the interest of anybody who wants a true and lasting peace.
